A phone's built-in microphone is designed for a hand held near your face, not a person standing two metres away in a room with hard walls. This clips to a collar and puts the microphone where your voice actually is — the entire difference between audio people keep watching and audio they switch off.
We chose it for how little stands between unboxing and recording. The receiver plugs in and finds the microphone on its own; there is no app to install and no pairing screen to get stuck on.

Before you choose
Lightning and USB-C versions exist and are not interchangeable — check your phone's port before ordering. It is not Bluetooth; it uses its own wireless link through the supplied receiver, so it will not pair with a laptop. Some Android phones need USB On-The-Go switched on in settings before the receiver is recognised. The supplied cable charges the microphone — it is not an audio lead. One-microphone sets record a single speaker; two-microphone sets add a second transmitter for interviews.
